Assalamu alaykum
Just found your post on wearing the niqab. Although I have always been a strong advocate for a woman’s right to wear one, I have come across niqabi woman or two lately who have made me wonder whether I was making a mistake. Your post reminded me why it’s so important that we support and encourage people to be and dress and behave in whatever way they choose.
Although I don’t think I would ever wear the niqab personally, I pray that people will always be supportive of you and your right to wear one.
Walaikum Assalam sister. Yes, most of the time we are wearing niqab with our own choice and it is really frustrating when someone comes and tells that we are being brainwashed or are oppressed. If women are left free to show every part of their body to the world then those who want to cover out of their own choice should also receive the same kind of support.
Jazakillah khair for reading and appreciating 🙂
Superb

Jazakillah khair sister for reading and appreciating my blog 🙂
Barakallahu Feeki 🙂
Aswk!
I found your post on niqab very helpful. To be honest, I was struggling to make a decision. I am a story teller, as in I perform on stage, and although I don’t wear a niqab, I wear hijab and lately I was becoming apprehensive about wearing it while performing. It was all happening in my mind; I never faced any problems because of my hijab. I am not sure why I was overthinking. I mean my sisters don’t like me to wear it when we go on outings and girl’s in my college do judge me, but I go through all that just fine, Alhamdulliah. So, I am not sure why I was hesitating to wear it now.
But, I gained a little perspective after going through your post. I was being stupid.
Also, I read a few of your book reviews, liked that they were more personal than professional. I am slightly technologically- challenged, couldn’t subscribe to that blog. How do I do it?
First of all, Jazakillah khair for reading my article and my TBN blog and appreciating it. I will pray that Allah helps you in your decision. You know when I was deciding to wear niqab I had gone through all of these thoughts as well. But after reading stories of different niqabi sisters I was able to become more firm in my decision.
I still haven’t added a subscription option on that blog. Please follow me on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/aisboo and Twitter @AishaWritesTBN because I constantly share my articles there.
